Preparation: State Policy
This database, compiled by the Education Commission of the States (ECS), provides information about the
policies in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and four U.S. territories concerning the preparation of
teachers. The information was researched independently by ECS and then reviewed by officials in the department of
education in each state.
