The TQ Source is the premier source for information on teacher quality and leadership quality. The site provides a multitude of resources pertaining to the career continuum for teachers and leaders—from preparation and certification to recruitment, retention, and advancement. TQ Source is made available by the National Comprehensive Center for Teacher Quality.
The four educator quality topics are:
- Preparation: Information such as program requirements for traditional and alternative route programs; coursework requirements; and attitudinal data on preparation
- Recruitment and Retention: Information on topics such as financial incentives; induction and mentoring; pension portability; and dismissal
- Certification and Licensure: Information, such as licensure requirements and standards, for general education and special education teachers
- Accountability and Advancement: Information on topics such as educator evaluation; career ladders; and teacher leadership
The five resources available on the site are the following:
- State Policy: Policy information for all 50 states.
- Data: User-customized graphs and tables based on reliable data.
- Publications: Summaries of research and publications.
- Initiatives: Information about current national and regional teacher quality and leadership quality initiatives and programs.
- TQ Source Tips and Tools: Emerging Strategies to Enhance Educator Quality: A compendium of practical strategies and resources to assist policymakers and practitioners in improving educator quality. Specific subjects include improving educator quality in at-risk schools and recruiting quality teachers for mathematics, science, and special education.
